The 8.5 cm height means it can get under furniture that is low, and front cameras and infrared sensors assist it navigate around obstacles and thresholds with ease.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda from corners and on baseboards The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was still quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't clean, however, and its removable cleaning pads were difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
Its app lacks advanced features like multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however, its voice controls aren't intuitive or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it comes back to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow the wall or trace an earlier route however the RX3 is a mess until it gives up.
Another issue we encountered was with its smart features, particularly the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. While it did a great job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes, it got easily stuck by cables and socks and it was not able to manage the tassels that adorn rug. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to uprights that are traditionally used.
